Mortgages Now Available for Americans
 Although
mortgages have been available for Mexican nationals purchasing
in Mexico for quite some time, mainstream financing for
Americans purchasing real estate in Mexico has only been
available since late 2005.
Now, several banking and lending
institutions are making loans available to qualified Americans with a
minimum requirement of 20 to 30% down.

offers reasonable interest rates (as low as 7.50%) available for
new purchase, refinancing and construction projects with 15-, 20-
and 30-year terms.
The biggest surprise for most new investors looking at purchasing
in Mexico is that closing costs typically run between 5 to 10% of
the purchase price, compared to 1 to 3% in the United States.
However, this increased cost is easily offset by the double-figure
appreciation that most of Mexico has experienced every year for
the last five years.
